Waterland Bicycle Tour

Amsterdam and Waterland

Description

In this beautiful tour you cycle with an experienced guide through the stunning waterland north of Amsterdam. Zipping on a drink in the pyttoresk little village of Durgerdam you can enjoy the views overlooking the Ijmeer Cycling throughout this protected nature brings you pleasure and relaxation At the end of the Tour you go back to Amsterdam over the IJ water with the little ferry

Itinerary

Our professional and local guide will first cycle you to the oldest establishment of the city; The Schreierstoren dated from 1487, the same period in which Amsterdam was founded. Here you will be informed about the history of this place and subsequently continuing the tour heading north! This is still considered a part of Amsterdam, but since this region is located across het IJ, it’s most famous for its polder landscape nature. This is a protected region so therefore immune for any kind of modern construction and gives a good impression of how Holland once looked like, especially around the city of Amsterdam. During the tour you can stop for a drink or have a typical Dutch pancake lunch in one of the taverns.
