Flowerfields and Keukenhof + Free Canal Cruise

5 out of 5 stars (34 reviews)

Behind the dunes that run from Haarlem to Leiden lies the bulb area like a magical canvas of daffodils, hyacinths and tulips, alive with the most delightful smells and colours. We visit the flower exhibition ‘Keukenhof’, and experience the perfection of millions of bulbs displayed over a wonderful park with fantastic flower shows and sculptures.

This colourful tour takes us through the outstanding flowerfields in the direction of the Keukenhof, the worlds largest flower garden. Inside the Keukenhof gardens there will be plenty of time to admire this beautiful internationally renowned display of all sorts of flowers in a relaxed way.

There are about seven million different bulbs planted each year, including a wide variety of tulips, hyacinths, orchids, daffodils, lilies and crocuses. Especially the tulip displays are breathtaking; there are more then 700 different varieties.

There is also a large collection of sculptures and works of art scattered throughout the Keukenhof garden. Don't miss the Keukenhof windmill which provides an excellent vantage point to take pictures.

The Keukenhof Tulip Garden Tour includes a bus trip from the centre of Amsterdam and fast-track admission to the park. The Keukenhof Tulip Garden Tour lasts an average of five hours, which is plenty of time to stroll through the beautiful gardens at your own pace. On the way there you will also be able to spot the colourful strips of long tulip fields which surround the Keukenhof Tulip Garden. Tour dates vary from season to season, depending on the weather. " Fantastic what else can i say "

A trip of a lifetime that you have to do, especially if Pieter the tour guide is around. He is extremely knowledgeable and funny. WHOW it was amazing thank you .
" Good day out "
4 out of 5 stars
We found that having booked on line and arriving at central station it wasn't very clear where you had to go to be shown to your coach. Once we had found this out we boarded and the guide was very friendly and the journey pleasant. We found that maybe 4 hours is a little too long for this visit and that 3 would have been long enough. Overall though good value day out.
" Brilliant "

Efficient service. Guide great on bus , lots of free time at Keukenhof
" Tulips "
5 out of 5 stars
A wonderful 4 hours at Keujenhof made more enjoyable by the guide on the coach Edgar. Only slight issue is that it was not straightforward finding the meeting point in the bowels of central station so give yourself extra time.
" Great trip "
5 out of 5 stars
An absolute must if you're in Amsterdam. We went late March and although some of the tulips weren't out yet there was still enough! The views are spectacular. The trip was well organised and gives you a good 4hrs in the park. The only thing I would suggest is perhaps checking if anyone needs help with walking to the bus when meeting up at the train station. Both my mum and I walk with a walking stick and the person leading us to the his rushed off and took stairs before we even had a chance to ask if there was a lift. It's only a slight niggle otherwise the trip is well run and all staff were very friendly.

" Good be a bit better "
4 out of 5 stars
The guide was repeating a bit too much the obvious intructions, but I got the transportation, entry & the flower experience I was after.

It was a wonderful experience. The journey was good and so was the guide. The beautiful part is you are given your own time at your own phase. Unfortunately time was too short to visit the whole place. On the whole it was a life time experience. Thank u to the organized city tours. Will recommend to everyone. My only regret was we were not able to bring our fries even though we promised not to eat in the bus. Instead we have to throw it away. On the whole it was fantastic!
" Beautiful gardens "
5 out of 5 stars
I was amazed and excited with the beautiful and well maintained gardens. It was worth my trip to Amsterdam just to visit Keukenhof.
" A rainbow experience "
5 out of 5 stars
Our morning at Keukenhof was delightful in spite of the weather being cool and showery. We enjoyed the rainbow effect of the long stripes of thousands of tulips and other flowers in full bloom in every colour in the bulb fields. The gardens themselves are a riot of colour and variety, beautifully landscaped. Inspiring and uplifting.
" Great day out! "
4 out of 5 stars
I took my family to see the famous flower fields and we had a great time. The trip was well organised and left punctually, our guide Pieter was very well informed, friendly and helpful. The only reason this isn’t a five star review is that it was t made clear that the trip was 5.5hrs including travel time, therefore we weren’t able to do the boat trip due to lack of time which was a real shame. Perhaps Amsterdam city tours could sell the costs for this as part of the excursion? But all in all worth the money.
" Disappointing "
3 out of 5 stars
I chose Amsterdam City Tours (act) because it seemed from their material that there would be 5 hours at the Keukenhof where other operators said only 3 hours. One of the others was almost 20 Euro less. In the end we had 3 hours there which is not long enough especially if you want to eat as well!! The headphones handed out weren’t that useful as there was hardly any commentary. Effectively it was an expensive direct bus ride there and back but with the added BONUS of fast track entry which was good, thanks
" Colourful "

The coach transfer from Amsterdam to Kuekenhop was poorly managed and nowhere to shelter while waiting for the bus......but saying that the gardens were fantastic...take your own food.
" Excellent "

" A Lovely Spring Outing "

What an excellent way to get to and into the gardens! It was a pleasant ride with interesting commentary. Entrance to the gardens was so well facilitated. Many thanks!
" Keukenhof Tulips in Amsterdam "
4 out of 5 stars
So glad we booked this tour. At the height of tulip season, a beautiful sunny day and the ease of meeting the tour and getting to the Keukenhof was great. One thing you need to be at the tour headquarters at the time they say. They leave right away at 8:45. We got there just in time.
" Flowerfields and Keukenhof, amazing tour, don't miss it "
5 out of 5 stars
The weather wasn't so good, but I did an experience that I will never forget, an amazing chromatic emotion, the tour was very well organized with on time departure and arrival, the bus was very comfortable, the driver and the guide were professional and kind for any explanation, no problems at all. Don't miss it!
" Flowers "
5 out of 5 stars
Was easy to catch the tour bus out there was informative on the way. Flowers were amazing even though out in the fields they were finished. Plenty in pots in gardens to see. Lovely gifts places windmill was good to see. Other flowers to see beside tulips.
" Tulip heaven "
4 out of 5 stars
Although we were there at the end of tulip season the beds were still beautiful and there was much more to the park itself than we expected; beautiful vistas, water features, music, several gift shops and eating areas. We enjoyed our visit and our family enjoyed the pictures we took.
" Sunshine and flowers "
5 out of 5 stars
We had a beautiful day at Keukenhof. The tour experience was seamless. The bus was very comforable. The guides were excellent. We took our four children with us. They loved it. There is a great playground and petting zoo.
" Beautiful Flowers "
5 out of 5 stars
Thoroughly enjoyed the trip to the flower fields at Keukenhof. Went on a coach from Central Amsterdam which was easily accessed and well organised. We were fast tracked into the venue and had 3 hours to explore and do our own thing. Fantastic place. Lots of flowers to see and som really interesting indoor displays. Also lots of choice for food and drink. Would thoroughly recommend.
" Still great flowers late in the season "

Well worth the time and the time, and the bus!... not only a pleasant trip, but the guide was wonderful with all details about every place we went trough. 100 points for everybody!!!

" The amount and creativity of flowers "

The best was the man that was beside chofer. He was very special , making the trip so nice, with his funny things to say and happines
" amazing experience "
4 out of 5 stars
really worthwhile. The flowers are amazing and the set up with a sprinkling of different food and bathroom stops works well so that you can amble and stop at leisure. Get in early as it becomes very busy and you lose some of the beauty with so many people
" Fantastic tour "
5 out of 5 stars
I was lucky enough to be in Amsterdam for the tulips. The Gardens were simply beautiful. I personally would have liked a little more time at the gardens as there is so much to see. The transportation was good, and the bus driver slowed down so we could get a better look at the flower fields. Would definitely recommend this tour. Doing this as a tour has the advantage of getting you close to the entrance and not having to worry about parking. (There were A LOT of visitors there)
" beautiful gardens "
3 out of 5 stars
This outing is highly recommended. We were there in early spring, so there was cherry blossom, daffodils and hyacinths as well as tulips. Ideally we should have been given maps on the bus - or at least told where to find them. Also, we were not told that the main tulip display was in the Willem Alexander greenhouse - this is essential information. I got there with very little time to spare so almost missed the amazing display.
" quite good "
4 out of 5 stars
Would advise that explanations during the way to the fields should be available in different languages (like the other Tours) and not just in English and local language. You have the Bus prepared, the phones and the system, so you could turn the customer's experience much more interesting by adding the information in more languages.
" Flowers everywhere! "

Beautiful gardens with so so many flowers. The designs were unbelievable. Great place to visit.
" Well Worthwhile "

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Keukenhof earlier this week. The gardens are beautifully laid out and cared for but such a shame they only open for two months of the year. We also enjoyed the canal cruise.
" Flowerfields in Amsterdam - Keukenhof "
5 out of 5 stars
My friend and I booked the day tour to Keukenhof around one week ago, the flowerfields in Amsterdam. We exchanged the vouchers to tickets few days before the trip. Trip started from 09:00 to 14:00. We were guided by Marian, she is very nice, funny and professional. She mentioned about the history, the culture, the nowadays-environment. We were excited and feeling satisfied about this. Thanks driver for taking care of us. We did have a safe and nice journey. I wish to introduce to my family and friends.
" Amazing garden! "

I was here visiting my daughter and her partner who are both living in Holland, the gardens are beautiful. Keukenhof has the best flower gardens in the world.
