3 Day All-Inclusive South Holland Tour
Your driver will pick you up at your hotel for a brief tour of the city center of Amsterdam. You will pass by the landmarks that have shaped Amsterdam into the diverse European culture capital that it is today. Your tour will then continue on to Haarlem, where you will be taken to see the Cathedral of Saint Bavo, and the museum within the Cathedral that contains historic relics of Haarlem and Amsterdam’s Catholic past. Your next stop in Haarlem will be either the museum of Frans Hals (a renowned Dutch Golden Age master) or the Teylers Museum (the Netherlands’ oldest museum, first open to the public in 1784). After lunch at a local Haarlem restaurant, you will be whisked away for a walking tour of the city center of The Hague. As well as seeing the government buildings within which the Dutch government and Royal Family reside, you will be able to tour the grounds of the Peace Palace which houses the International Court of Justice (the judicial arm of the United Nations). After the tour ends, you will be treated to a delicious dinner followed by a restful night’s sleep.
After a hearty breakfast, your driver will pick you up and take you to the artistic capital of the Netherlands: the gorgeous city of Delft, the hometown of Dutch Master Johannes Vermeer and world-famous Delft pottery. Your day here will begin with a visit to the Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles (the Royal Delft Pottery factory), the only remaining earthenware factory of those established in Delft in the 17th century. Next, you will be taken to the Delft New Church, the historic burial grounds of the Dutch royalty. If the weather is clear, you may even be able to climb the tower and look down on the impressive views of the ancient city. On your way to Rotterdam, you will make a brief stop in the small city of Schiedam to catch a glimpse of the tallest windmills in the world. A local guide will greet you in Rotterdam and take you on a tour of the city, which will include the amazing Kijkkubus – the world famous cube houses designed by Piet Blom. After Rotterdam, your driver will take you back to Amsterdam where you will enjoy a gourmet five-course dinner cruise on Amsterdam’s historic canals and spend the night in one of the city’s luxurious hotels.
On the morning of the third and last day of your tour you will have some free time to explore Amsterdam at your own leisure. Your three-day adventure will conclude with a guided walking tour through the city’s historic center taking in such sights as Dam Square and the Royal Palace, the New Church, the Old Harbor, the Old Church, the Red Light District, Chinatown, Anne Frank’s House, the Jordaan Quarter, not to mention the historic 17th canals that crisscross the city.
