Jewish Interest Walking Tour - for groups
Interested in specific walking tours about the history of the Jewish people? Professional guides at the Jewish Historical Museum show you the past and present of Amsterdam Jewry. The walking tour takes you to various buildings and monuments, concluding with a tour at the Hollandsche Schouwburg, the former theater (now a monument) that the Nazis used to round up and deport the Jews to various concentration camps.

The route is not fixed, but will start at the former Ashkenazi synagogue complex, today's Jewish Historical Museum. From here the tour will lead to numerous houses, buildings and monuments that recall the chequered history of Amsterdam's Jewish Quarter. Waterlooplein market, for example, Jodenbreestraat, Gassan diamond works on Uilenburgerstraat, the Portuguese Synagogue, the Dockworker statue, the Auschwitz monument, Wertheimpark, the diamond workers' union building on Henri Polaklaan and Hollandsche Schouwburg. Please note: the walking tour doesn't include a visit to the Jewish Historical Museum or the Portuguese Synagogue.
